Well , this question has been asked to many people all around the World.People give answers by saying reader or traveller.
For me, at first i said a reader knows more .I don't really remember the reason for that but i can without doubt say that my idea on this question has been changed.
1) We don't have to give the same answers as they expect from us .For me the answer depends on the person.
The reader may be reading only about ,let's say , programming that means he is going to be expert on it but when it comes to asking about another issues , he will not be able to explain as an expert or enough knowledgeable person do on that particular topic.
We do not know where the traveller went and were his eyes open ?Going there means his eyes were open or he was able to see .
No matter what , the only precious knowledge is that ' comes to our minds when we need them' .Otherwise if we happen to forget what we saw and what we read , it is like as i we did not read nor travelled
